Blogging the NRI Mind

About

We are non-resident, cynical-yet-proud Indians ranting and raving, recollecting, reproving and rationalizing everything that remotely resonates with our rat-infested yet ravishing India. We hope you can relate, at least a little.

Abha Malpani

I love dal-fry and frozen yogurt. I dance salsa and admire bharatnatyam. I am inspired by travel yet have not travelled in India. I have lived in four countries. I love India yet am not ready to move back there. I’m fascinated by the diversity in India, yet being stuck in the middle of it is a discomforting thought. I think the saree is one of the most beautiful national dresses in the world. I speak Spanish and want to study Spanish literature. I want to understand my country and roots better. I used to be a professional travel blogger in Spain, now I work in social media in a public relations firm in Dubai. Writing is a creative outlet for me. I hate planning and love life’s randomness. I find people extremely interesting and hope to one day do something that makes a difference.

Anish Malpani

I do not believe in religion. I love sports. I am currently a student, studying at The University of Texas at Austin, after having completed my High School education from Dubai Modern High School, before which I was in India. I am a hardcore football (i.e. soccer) fan and I love losing myself to music. I wish I could play an instrument, believe me, I have tried and I am still trying. I hit puberty in superficial Dubai before starting college in the oh-so-free United States. I am blessed with an amazing family and my friends define me. I want to make a difference.

I am a 23 year old and of confused origins. I am however Indian enough to be both, confused as hell about who I am and confused as hell about what India is. My webcomic is about India, the Universe, Love, Advertising and occasionally football.
